What is the purpose of a scar? Is it really to cause us pain? Is it really to bring us hurting? Or is a gift for us to grow?

Let’s be honest. No one loves hurting. No one loves pain. If possible, we want to just dodge all the pain away. But truth to be said, life does not work that way.

The purpose of a scar is to grow. The truth is, the universe does not allow perfection. The very nature law is to be the most human alive. To be human is to fall and learn. To be human is to be broken, to then grow. Nature relies on imperfection. Only through our imperfections, can we always grow for the better.

Think about it, what is there to learn, without failure? What is there to heal, without pain? What is there to understood, without imperfections? What is there to be happy for, without sadness? What is there to grow, without breaking? Nothing.

Life would be so bland without the existence of pain. Life would be meaningless without the existence of failure. How would you know the feeling of happiness, without the existence of sadness? How would you know the feeling of success, without the existence of failure? How would you know the meaning of life, without being alive?

Being alive is to live with all the colors of the world. All the black and white. All the monochrome, and all the multicolored. Being alive is to live with all the emotions. All the sadness and all the joy. Being alive is to grow from all the problems we encountered in. Being alive is to be imperfect. For there is beauty in imperfections.

In order for you to live, you must build the courage to embrace all sorts of pain, scars, flaws, imperfections, and troubles. Know that growth will always feel like a breaking point to you. For its messiness and its discomfort, will push you out of your comfort zone.

In order for you to grow, you must build the courage to welcome and feel the discomfort of healing. Learn to be comfortable in the discomfort of your healing. Learn to be comfortable in all the difficulties that comes upon your journey. For it will be the very thing guiding you to grow.

Know that life brings you a positive kind of damage. For every slump, will always bring us up, feeling brand new. For failure is merely a bridge to our growth. Allow yourself to make peace with the broken parts of yourself.

The most important thing that you can do to live a meaningful life, is by growing yourself. May you find beauty, in the gentleness of your growth and healing.
